Manufacturing has emerged as one of the high growth sectors in India. Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi launched the ‘Make in India’ program to place India on the world map as a manufacturing hub and give global recognition to the Indian economy. India's $2.6 trillion economy surpassed France's in 2017 to be the world's sixth largest according to World Bank data. The Indian government cited an expansion in manufacturing and construction as key factors in the sharp spike in growth. The government has announced the roll-out of a new manufacturing policy to push its share to 25% of GDP by consolidating Make in India and embracing Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Since 2001, Asian Machine Tool Exhibition (AMTEX) has been taking place in New Delhi to cater the growing market of machine tools and manufacturing industries of northern and western India. In its past edition, AMTEX achieved fantastic results, bringing together 20,878 trade visitors and 469 exhibitors representing countries such as Germany, Italy, Netherlands, South Korea, China and Taiwan.
Our customer surveys demonstrated a solid and steady progress in terms of delivering superior value to our customers and ensuring continuous efforts to further improve their effectiveness and efficiency of exhibiting. Exhibitor satisfaction grew by 10% and exhibitor loyalty grew by 6% compared to 2016; satisfaction and loyalty of visitors, key buyers, grew impressively to 7% and 5%, reaching almost an overall perfect 87% and 91% respectively.
